"They did give me a heads-up before disconnecting..."
They did give me a heads-up before disconnecting my service, so... I appreciated having some warning instead of it just happening out of nowhere.

"Meter readings are usually fine"
Well... the ameren site works okay for checking my bill, but I’ve noticed the meter readings don’t always seem totally accurate. A couple months looked higher than I expected, and while it did get corrected after the next reading, it was still kind of annoying. It’s not a terrible experience, I just wish it was a little more consistent

"Works okay, but I sometimes feel passed around"
I mostly use ameren.com to pay my bill or check outage updates. When the site loads like it should, it’s straightforward and I can usually find what I need without much trouble.
That said, it’s been kind of hit or miss for me. A few times it timed out right after I logged in, and once the payment page just sat there spinning. It also sometimes feels like I’m being passed around from one page or prompt to another when I’m just trying to get something simple done.
Overall, it’s not awful, but I wouldn’t call it especially smooth or reliable either. It gets the job done most of the time, but I’d probably give it 3 stars

"Service setup took longer than they promised"
Getting my service started was just okay. They made it sound like everything would be up and running quickly, but that definitely didn’t happen. I had to wait longer than expected, which was frustrating because they didn’t really stick to what they promised. It did get started eventually, but the whole process could’ve been handled better.

I got charged a late fee once, which was frustrating, but I expected it to be a bigger hassle. Ameren explained what happened clearly and helped me fix my payment setup so it wouldn’t happen again. Since then, I haven’t had any surprise penalties, so I’d say they handled it fairly.

I noticed a strange charge on my Ameren bill and had no idea what it was for, so I called customer service. The rep was really helpful and actually took the time to check what was going on instead of giving me some generic answer. It only took about 10 minutes, and they got the account credit fixed right away. i felt relieved afterward and good about how they handled it.

"Booking was about as easy as I expected"
I figured setting up the appointment would be straightforward, and it was. The booking part was quick and didn’t give me any trouble. The only thing is the time window was a little wider than I would’ve liked, but overall it kind of confirmed what I already thought, easy process.

"Rebate was easy, but I was nervous after paying"
I was able to find the thermostat rebate easily, and the process wasn’t too complicated. I’ll admit I felt a little unsure after I paid, wondering if everything would actually go through, but the rebate came back quickly. In the end, it saved me some money, so I’m happy with it.

"Power goes out more than it should"
The service is fine when it’s actually working, but for some reason we seem to lose power more often than I’d expect. The updates are usually decent, which I appreciate, but I’d rather just have the power stay on in the first place...

"Not thrilled about the outage, but the updates helped"
Our power went out last night, which was obviously frustrating, but I’ll give Ameren credit for keeping us updated. I wasn’t just sitting there wondering what was going on. The estimated restoration time did change once, but they let us know quickly. Still not a fun situation, but at least the communication was decent.

"The payment plan option really helped me out"
My bill was higher than normal, so I tried setting up a payment plan on ameren.com, and it was easy :) It gave me some breathing room without having to call anyone, which I really appreciated. It’s not perfect every single time, but having that flexibility helped me stay caught up!

"Not great, not terrible — that’s..."
Not great, not terrible, that’s pretty much where I’ve landed with Ameren. The service has been fine and I haven’t had any real issues, plus the bill is easy enough to understand. My main complaint is that the gas rates have felt high lately, and I wish the monthly cost didn’t jump around so much. Overall, it’s okay, but I wouldn’t say I’m thrilled with it

"Quick help after the storm"
We had a power line issue near my house after a storm, so I reported it on ameren.com. I figured it would take a while, but the crew got there faster than I expected and checked everything out. There was a little waiting around, but nothing too bad given the situation. They stayed calm, handled it professionally, and got the power back on sooner than I thought. Really appreciated the quick emergency response.

"restoration was okay, not super fast"
we had an outage in my area last week, so i ended up checking ameren.com a few times to see what was going on. the outage map was easy to use and gave me a general idea of the situation.

the only frustrating part was that the estimated restoration time kept changing. the power came back after about 6 hours, which could’ve been worse, but it still felt a little slow since the weather wasn’t really that bad.
overall, everything worked out and the info was there when i needed it. i just wish the restoration estimate had been a bit more accurate.

"It works, but it’s a bit clunky"
The app does what it’s supposed to do, but I still find myself hunting around for things more than I’d like. It’s not terrible, just not super intuitive. I reached out to support and they basically said something like, “That option is tucked under the settings menu,” which helped, but I wish it was easier to figure out without asking.

"One less thing to think about"
I’m the kind of person who always means to stay on top of bills, but life gets busy and I’ll forget little stuff unless it’s automated. I set up autopay with Ameren a while back mostly just to make my month easier, and I don’t think about it much anymore. The payments come out when they’re supposed to, I haven’t had any missed payments, and nothing weird has popped up so far. Pretty much exactly what I was hoping for.

I had the smart meter installed recently and it’s been really handy. I can actually see what I’m using now instead of just guessing and then getting surprised by the bill. The whole confusion with estimated bills feels preventable now. The installer was friendly and got it sorted without any hassle. No problems so far
